Your best work is invisible. Make it count.
The private work log that turns your scattered notes into a self-review your manager can’t poke holes in — every claim traced to something you actually wrote. Your company never sees it.

Your log
The work that gets you promoted is the work nobody sees.
Mentoring a struggling teammate. Unblocking a stuck release. The judgment call that saved the quarter. None of it lands in a ticket — and by review season, it’s gone. You’re left reconstructing a year from memory, on a blank page, the night before it’s due.
Capture the mess. Generate the proof. Keep it forever.
Jot it in seconds
A note lands in under 150ms, works offline, and never calls an AI. Just you and the log — fast enough to use every day.
Reframe effort into impact
When review season hits, AI turns your raw notes into a self-review, brag doc, or weekly update — every line traceable to an entry.
Yours, provably
Export or delete anytime. Tamper-evident timestamps prove nothing was backdated. The record belongs to you, and only you.
Your company can't see this. It's your personal record.
- ✓No one else can see your entries. Strict per-user isolation -- not your employer, not other users.
- ✓We don't read your entries, and we never log their contents. Data minimization is the default.
- ✓Never trained on. Your words are never used to improve a model.
- ✓Export everything, or delete it for good. One click, no dark patterns, no "contact support."
- ✓No ad trackers or third-party cookies. We use Plausible Analytics -- aggregate pageview counts only, no personal data, no cookies, no fingerprinting.
You shouldn't have to hand the record of your own career to your employer. Meritbook is the private alternative — minimal, honest, and yours to take or erase.
Every claim traces back to something you actually wrote.
Generated reviews mark what’s verified by a real entry versus what’s estimated — so you never overclaim, and your manager can’t poke a hole in it.
You've tried the alternatives. Here's where they leave you.
A chat tool forgets, a blank doc can't vouch for you, and your company's system isn't yours. Meritbook is the one record that remembers, proves, and stays with you.
Great at polishing. Useless at remembering.
ChatGPT can rewrite a bullet, but it has no memory of what you did in March. Meritbook holds the whole year — captured as it happened — so there's something real to polish in the first place.
A blank file can't tell proof from padding.
A doc just stores text; it can’t separate a verified win from a hopeful guess. Meritbook marks every claim as backed-by-an-entry or estimated, with tamper-evident timestamps — so your review holds up under scrutiny.
Theirs ends when the job does.
Lattice, Workday, and the rest belong to your employer — the record vanishes when you leave, and they can read it while you stay. Meritbook is yours alone, exportable anytime, invisible to your company.
Free to capture. Pay only when it pays you back.

Built by Sang, backend engineer. I built Meritbook because I kept losing a year of real work every review season -- the mentoring, the unblocking, the judgment calls that never made it into a ticket. I wanted a private log I actually owned, not something my employer could see. So I built it. I'm accountable for it, by name, right here.
What stops you from reading my entries?
Policy and design. Your entries are isolated so no other user can reach them, we don't read them, we never log their contents, and we never train on them. The AI only ever sees a scoped slice at the moment you generate -- never stored. We say only what's true here: today that's a strict no-read practice, and stronger zero-access encryption is on our roadmap.
What if Meritbook gets acquired or shuts down?
Your data is always exportable in plain Markdown and JSON. If anything changes hands, you'll have notice and a clean way out -- the record is yours, not an asset we can sell.
Where is my data stored, and who can touch it?
In a single, well-secured database with per-user isolation and tested backups. The full details -- our subprocessors, retention, and breach plan -- live on our Trust Center page, linked below.
Is this my account or my company's?
Yours. Meritbook is a personal account you sign up for directly -- there's no employer integration and no admin who can read your log. Your manager never sees it.
Stop losing the work that matters.
